Water-cooled capacitors are capacitor systems designed to remove heat by liquid cooling in high-power circuits that generate intense heat. This approach is considered in industrial power converter, induction and high-power filter applications where air cooling is insufficient. The cooling circuit aims to limit the operating temperature of the capacitor, providing suitable conditions for life and stability.
In selection, in addition to the capacitance and voltage value, the type of coolant, flow rate, inlet and outlet temperatures, connection dimensions and closed-loop design should be examined. The components of the cooling system, such as piping, pump and leak control, should also be planned as part of the project.
